LFC United

Please! Surely things are on the up!

Sunday marked the 100th day since Liverpool Football Club were saved by NESV and saved from a 15 point deduction and certain relegation under the nightmare ownership of messers Hicks & Gillette. So much has happened in the 100 days , probably the biggest regret was Roy Hodgson being the wrong man at the wrong place hence the parting of the ways after some woeful displays and results.

In what was seen as a wrong appointment in many Liverpool fans eyes, it was a car crash waiting to happen for me. With Kenny Dalglish’s name being sung with great gusto it was only a matter of time until John W Henry made his first massive decision in installing King Kenny back to the dug out. From the outside it must look like the scousers are stuck in some nostalgia timewarp but, after all the turmoil of the last three years we just want our club back. For too long the old traditions of LFC had been forgotten, especially during the Houllier/Benitez years.

Even though trophies kept coming, our style of football was lost and the tried and trusted pass and move was a distant dream, which is why so many fans wanted Kenny back to take us to the Liverpool we all love, with things kept in-house and back to the type of football that brought us title after title and European cups galore.

Can we now “resume normal play” and get back to the Liverpool of old?

Of course they can but they need to get rid of half the squad and bring in players with flair and pace. Suarez would be a start but a couple of wingers and importantly a cente back is needed – big changes needed because as they stand they are an average side much of which was handed to Woy.

The last three years have we have had to sell of our prized assets to service the debts so kindly bestowed on us (100 grand a day) ,my argument regarding Roy Hodgson would be which squad would you choose Liverpool or Blackpool’s ,it’s what a manager can do with what’s at his disposal and how he motivates that squad that matters and Mr Hodgson failed big time as his results will testify ,Now it’s time to start adding that quality back .
